At Sugar and Ice of Shaw we offer both classes AND parties.
Essentially, they are actually priced about the same at £15 per person...so what IS the difference??
Well, there are quite a few differences so to put any confusion to rest, we hope this helps.

Q: It's my daughter's birthday and she would like to make cupcakes with her friends.
A: Definitely a PARTY. We offer parties in the comfort of your own home for children aged 5 upwards. We can cater for as little as 3 children to a maximum of 10! We bring everything to YOU and entertain your girls (or boys) for 2 whole hours! We guarantee NO MESS and we clean and tidy away afterwards. The children receive a box of 6 cupcakes to decorate and keep. We teach them how to pipe buttercream in 3 different ways and then show them how to decorate their cupcakes using coloured sugarpaste and cutters. We also bring sprinkles and glitter...oh, and the birthday girl or boy receives a card and present from us :0)
Q: It's my daughter's birthday and I would like to treat her, just the two of us.
A: Definitely a CLASS. If your daughter is aged 6 or more, a class would be the perfect answer. Our classes are for children AND adults, held in our Cupcake Studio above Regina Lucia's Ice-Cream Parlour and Coffee Shop in Shaw. Like our parties, the class is 2 hours. We offer 6 cupcakes, teach one style of buttercream piping and tuition is "themed" depending on the time of year. For example, February is "Hearts and Roses".
Q: My 2 friends and I would like to learn how to decorate cupcakes. We are all aged 35.
A: You can choose a CLASS or a PARTY! As there are 3 of you, we would actually visit you in your home to offer a COCKTAILS AND CUPCAKE PARTY and offer expert 2 hour tuition for a complete price of £65. This tuition would be completely personal based on your specific requirements and you would receive 6 cupcakes AND alcohol-free cocktails! Or, for £45, you can all book onto a class where the tuition is already chosen within our Cupcake Studio in Shaw. Both would be suitable and highly enjoyable - it all depends on your requirements and budget.
Q: My sister is getting married and I would like to treat her to something special.
A: You can choose a CLASS or a PARTY! If you would like to arrange a HEN NIGHT we can come to your home to offer a COCKTAILS AND CUPCAKE PARTY and offer expert 2 hour tuition based on the wedding and Hen Night! We can do some classy or naughty cupcakes! YOU decide! Each guest would receive 6 cupcakes AND alcohol-free cocktails! You can even add your own alcohol to OUR cocktails! Or, if it's just you and your sister, as a little treat you can book onto a class where the tuition is already chosen within our Cupcake Studio in Shaw.

FAQ'S
If you have some questions that still haven't been answered, we have compiled a list of questions which we usually encounter. Hope this helps!
Q: Now that you have acquired premises in Shaw, do you offer Children's Parties there?
Unfortunately, no. Due to work and time constraints, we only utilise the room above Regina Lucia's for CLASSES. Were we to offer Children's Parties there, this would greatly impact on the availability of our classes and we want to offer both :0)
Q. But if I had 6 children interested, could I just not book them all on a Class?
For the same price you could have a party :0) If you book all 6 children onto a Class, this would mean the session would be more than half full and we would need to turn away alot of disappointed adult customers. This is why we always encourage Parties for groups of children and adults.

Q: Where do you offer the Children's Parties?
At this present time, we can only offer Children's Parties in the comfort of your own home.
Q. How do I book a Children's Party?
Please call me on 01706 840521 or 07761 501214. I can offer parties on a Saturday or Sunday AND during half-term holidays, on a Thursday or Friday! If the date is available in my diary, it is no problem!
Q. How do I pay for a Children's Party?
We require 50% of the full party price beforehand to secure the booking. We accept cash, cheque, PayPal or BACS transfer. The remaining balance is due on the day of the party.
Q. How much are Children's Parties?
Prices start at £65 for 3 or 4 children. The children must be of school age. For 5 children the price is £75, 6 children is £90, 7 children £105, 8 children £120, 9 children £135 and 10 children is £150. The price is basically £15 per child and when you consider this would be the cost involved in taking the group to the cinema with treats, our deal is a far more memorable, interesting and educational experience :0)

Q. Can we simply "turn up" on the day of the class?
Unfortunately, no. We need to know numbers in advance in order to prepare our cupcakes and buttercream. To book, you need to purchase a ticket and we require the £15 fee in full beforehand.
Q. Can we pay for Class tickets at Lucia's Coffee Shop?
Again, no. We simply "hire" the room at Lucia's. The staff within the Coffee Shop simply offer us the room, they are not connected to Sugar and Ice of Shaw.
Q. How do we pay for a Class ticket?
You need to contact me on 01706 840521 or 07761 501214 to arrange a visit to Sugar and Ice of Shaw where payment can be made and a ticket handed to you by way of receipt.
Q. If I buy a Class ticket and then need to cancel, can I obtain a refund?
We regret that due to the preparation and purchase of food and supplies, we are unable to offer refunds on cancellations. However, if the hosts need to cancel the session (highly improbable) a full cash refund will be given to all our class customers.
